Album Notes

My favorite music is piano with orchestra playing beautiful love ballads, especially on rainy days or evenings. I learned to play piano as a child after my grandmother bought us a piano. I learned to play by ear on my own and then was given piano lessons for a few years until money ran out. During this time I wrote songs and also taught myself how to tune. I have been tuning pianos ever since. Both of my grandmothers played piano for silent movies. One played in Brooklyn New York and the other in Winnipeg Canada. The "Petticoat Waltz" is a song I wrote while visualizing women dancing with hoop skirts and petticoats at a grand ball during years gone by. The song has since been used by ice skaters during competition. To brighten the mood and add contrast, I've ended this album with three old time tunes. "The Model T Rag" is a song I wrote as a child. I added sounds I recorded from an actual Model T Ford. I play a concert grand for recording ballads and an old upright for recording ragtime songs. I play, produce, mix and master all the background music with equipment I've assembled. I call this equipment "The Belle Arbor Orchestra". Hope you enjoy,Steve
