Album Notes

Steve Gladman is one of the most talented and undiscovered guitarists in the UK. He first picked up the guitar aged 13 and has gone on to play live with many different bands in the South of England.

Steve's first solo album "Liquideyes" really shows a diverse and interesting collection of instrumental tracks. Ranging from the s.o.a.d style riffing on the massive album opener "Monster Mosh" to the Stevie ray Vaughn inspired strat playing on "Steve's Blues".

Every song on this album is treated with respect and maturity, instead of endless guitar solos that seem to go on forever and dont go anywhere Steve's tracks are more focused on strong melodys and hooks that grab you straight away. Worry not guitar fans as guitar solos are not in short supply! Check out "stratosfear" for some great lead work and the epic "truth" for its colossal outro solo which could easily be from a Richie Sambora or Gary Moore tune.

This album ticks all the boxes for a great instrumental guitar album.

Guitar rock with real grooves and real tunes!

I bought this album after hearing Steve's demos on the Bare Knuckle guitar pickups forum. I went through a phase of listening to shred guitar albums 20 years ago, and now they bore me to tears - but Steve Gladman's guitar instrumentals have real tunes. He has the good taste to give the melodies priority, which isn't to say he can't throw down when the time is right. The album covers a variety of styles from blues through melodic hard rock to metal, but my own favourites are the big-groove-driven Liquideyes, Monster Mosh and especially Stratosfear. Looking forward to the next one!

This guy is new to me, but he sure can rock. There is a good selection of styles on this cd, but all have the identity signiture sound, which I really like. There's more than a little Metallica influence in there and maybe some Whitesnake too. I think awesome covers this one totally.

An album of great musical quality but never takes itself to seriously.

Liquideyes really stands out from other guitar instrumental albums i have heard recently. These are actual songs with real catchy tunes not just start to finish guitar widdle. I guess you could say its got soul and a maturity. Each song is different but the album flows really well and at just under 50 minutes is well worth the admission fee. Oh and he solos with the best of them, check him out!
