STEVE’S BIO

www.steveiles.com Visit my website and preview the entire album.

For those with musical curiosity, I have been on the guitar since the age of 15 (it was a good way to meet chicks then…still is from what I hear) and continued playing for over 30 years in clubs and hotels from Gympie to Hobart, as well as The Woodford Festival, Gympie Muster, and support to top Australian and overseas acts. Many other fine musicians with years of local and international experience also appear on the CD with bio’s too long to list but needless to say I am very grateful for their fine playing

The concept of the album, which involves all the usual country and blues subjects ranging from woman trouble to woman trouble as well as irritating friends and relatives, deceased pets and other forms of existential angst, began in January, 2004.when I decided to put pen to paper and finally express myself. Another reason for producing this album was of course so that my children and future generations will have beer coasters and small placemats for decades.

Should anyone have the curiosity to listen to any downloads (you’re mad if you don’t, you might get a laugh!) and enjoy some of these bitter and twisted little numbers, or even buy my album, I can guarantee every dollar will go into the production of more music for your critical ear. Influences are (apart from the wife) Tony Joe White, Brian Setzer, Little Feat, Lucinda Williams, North Mississippi Allstars…go figure when you listen! And for guitar nerds like myself the guitar featured on the back of the CD and in many of the solos, is a very rare, Fender custom shop, GUILD PARK AVENUE X180, of which only a few were ever made.

WARNING
This musician is currently receiving counseling for guitar acquisitions syndrome or GAS.
