Album Notes

Steve Jacobson, jazz guitarist, composer, and educator, lives and works in the Chicago area. Parts Unknown, his debut album as a leader, was recorded with the assistance of a grant from the City of Chicago and the Illinois Arts Access Program. Steve has worked professionally in jazz and many other genres for more than thirty years, recently performing as a solo artist, in duets with bassist Phil Brown, and at the helm of the Steve Jacobson Quartet. A native of Tacoma, Washington, he holds a Bachelor of Music from Cornish College of the Arts and a Master of Music from DePaul University. Currently, Steve is adjunct faculty at Lewis University, Joliet Junior College, and Prairie State College.
