Album Notes

There's a reason Steven has been selected to appear in the Tucson Folk Festival five years in a row, and one listen to this CD will show you why. While perhaps not in the traditional "folk" vein, the songs echo a range of human emotion and mood which express the music of the "folk."

Steven's songwriting, vocals, and gift of melodic harmony really shine in this release, accompanied by acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, violin, keyboards, bass, and drums. The mood ranges from mystical-progressive-folk-rock to pseudo-country folk, to introspective character sketches.
No matter what your mood, there's something here for almost everyone.

The songs are the fruits of several years' wanderings across Europe and the western U.S., and examine various aspects of being human, including strength and beauty in the face of adversity, forgiveness, and the search for the self, among others. There is a strong melodic foundation and an undercurrent of social consciousness and subtle spirituality reminiscent of Donovan, Cat Stevens, or George Harrison.

Come on in -- take a joyride. That's what life's all about, don'tcha think?
