Album Notes

I Wonder What the Radio Plays is Steven Stark's first release on his own Austin based label Saint Oliver's Head Records. The songs range from the acoustic 7/4 signature of "A Record of Time" to the hand drums and layered vocals of "Monkey's Lament" and "From The Plain" to the roaring guitars of "The Joy of Just Three Chords."

Many of the songs are written around a chamber pop arrangement featuring cellos and violins. Steven is already hard at work on a new record to be released in the fall of 2002.

He is currently performing throughout the Southwest United States promoting his current release. He is also seeking out international touring opportunities and an additional label affiliation as a solo performer. Thanks for listening and thanks for supporting independent music.

Layers of diversity and melody...
author: Stuart M.
This release is so diverse & layered; and a definate result of shrewd and inspired composition. The fact that it was made by one musician is phenomenal, when one hears the multi-instrumental genius of this recording. One can hear something new with every listen. Spreading over many genres, without sacrificing exciting nuances of dexterous melody and influence, this album is a must-have for a modern rock collection.
