Album Notes

"I've loved country music from the beginning. I carried the Willie Nelson LP "The Sound in Your Mind" around when I was 5 and wore out "If You've Got the Money, I've Got the Time" as well as Glenn Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy". From my dad singing Faron Young's "Hello Walls" and Conway Twitty on road trips, I recall playing DJ in our 1978 Lincoln and shuffling through the 8 tracks to play everything from Don Williams to Elvis. My mom had an amazing voice and sang Streisand which I'm certain led to me loving Neil Diamond and Celine. The bluesy piano of Charlie Rich and Ronnie Milsap and the discovery of ZZ Hill influenced my straight-ahead Oklahoma country sound." -- Steven Yell (Rayf Mulestedder)
