Album Notes

STEVE PEARSON

BATTLES & BALLADS

Steve Pearson is a Northwest treasure and one of America's best kept secrets.

Over the last 25 years, Pearson has written and recorded some of the Northwest's most memorable rock & roll with a sound that evokes The Beatles, Tom Petty and The Byrds. From 1978 to 1983 Pearson was the lead singer/guitarist with The Heats, Seattle's #1 club act. With the Heats, Pearson toured nationally with Heart and The Knack on their respective arena tours, and recorded two successful albums, "Have An Idea" and "Burning Live", as well as a genuine hit single, "I Don't Like Your Face."

Pearson continued to pack the clubs with his roots-rock band, The Rangehoods(1984-1992), recording two more albums and touring the nation under the sponsorship of Miller Beer. He has remained musically active over the last 10 years, performing solo, playing with his current band British Racing Green , and occasionally at reunion shows with the Heats/Heaters and The Rangehoods.

Key Info:
-The Heats "Have An Idea" LP sold 15,000 copies in the Northwest and was listed in Goldmine Magazine as one of the 100 essential power-pop albums of all time.

-Steve will be playing Northwest dates this spring and summer.

a Rick, a Vox, a Super 400 - it jangles, it rocks - you can't loose
author: George Ainsworth
If you like Tom Petty, Badfinger, the Byrds, and the Beatles you will love this disc. Steve starts with these roots and takes off from there. The songs all share pure clean arrangements, not a lot of fluff to bury these excellent pieces. Today my faves are Every Single Lie, 44s And 45s, and Temptation. Tomorrow it'll be some of the other tunes. Really a stellar recording. Buy it - impress your friends, impress yourself and admire your good taste! Rating: 4.9999 stars
