Greetings and itations to all friends, fans, and lovers
of reggae music. I & I, Steve Steppa, am so very pleased
to present to you my official, second self-release for your listening pleasure. This time I put down the pen because there were no lyrics to write. With the exception of the first track on this release, all the songs are instrumental reggae.
My latest weapon of choice is the humble and
under-rated melodica. Lo and behold !
'Melodica Rock', probably the most personal musical
release I’ve ever done, because I wanted to do something
that nobody else is doing or too many people have forgotten about, while staying true to the music as an independent artist.
The name of the album being two words...“melodica”, the lead instrument inspired by Augustus Pablo (bless his soul
I-ternally) and the word “rock” as in rocksteady, rockers, etc. Strictly instrumental melodica dubplates
in various styles and tempos including roots, rocksteady and even a ska tune thrown in the mix. Also featured,
a collab special titled 'Melodica Mashup' with two other melodican friends of mine, Jacin and Tony Rankin.
So here’s one livicated to all melodicans (melodica players) worldwide…Melodica Rock ! Thanks for listening.
