Awesome CD. Definitely for Weather Report Lovers
Took a chance on this CD. Was familier with Steve Weingart's work with Dave Wenckl Band, but had not heard rene Jone' work. Wow! Was I a happy camper. Steve composes and plays with a vibe of Joe Zawinul, yet has his own touches. Rene adds some nice bass bottom and does Flora Purim style background vocals to augment several tracks. All songs are originals ( I believe), tasty and are executed nicely. Great CD for a cruise, but not namby pamby at all. Exellent Fusion at it's Coontemporary best. Has not left my car since I bought it. Band is tight. Get this one!
