Album Notes

I'm a huge fan of music. I guess I was influenced by my oldest brother who, in the late 70's and early 80's had a huge record collection including all the old Iron Maiden albums with the cool "Eddy" covers. I remember rocking out playing the tennis racket to Foghat in our old living room being careful not to jump to hard because the record might skip. Soon after, MTV graced our television with it's presence and I was exposed to bands like Adam and the Ants, Madness, Duran Duran, and Yes. I found refuge in MTV and my dreams of becoming a rockstar were further-solidified. In middle school I asked my parents for a guitar for Christmas. They bought me a cheap Memphis electric in Eddie Van Halen's "frankenstein" paint scheme. No amp though. I got that the next Christmas. In high school, I grew my hair long, and put together a band with a friend from school, his cousin, and a drummer from across town. Red October. We were the bad ass high school band from Cheyenne. The next Megadeth...in our minds. But we did write our own music in addition to the Metallica, Sex Pistols, Megadeth and yes...Cinderella covers we did. It may have been crap, but it was ours. Fortunately for all humanity, Red October called it quits when I found a serious girlfriend (what a jackass). I never lost the dream though. I started playing more acoustic guitar than electric in College at the University of Wyoming. Then, I ran out of cash, lost my drivers license for having too many moving violations, and got tired of freezing my ass off. So instead of moving to Texas, I joined the Army. Well-thought out plan. After jumping out of airplane for a few years, and playing acoustic songs for my buddies, I was also writing alot of music. I discovered it was something that I felt I did pretty well. After the Army, I moved to Denton, TX where I met a lot of present day rockstars...and some incredibly talented, charismatic musicians. I kept writing, and started playing solo acoustic shows. They kind of blew up for a while. Since then, I've just been hammering it out. I play shows when I can, write alot, record when I can, and keep trying to write songs that people can relate to. Maybe I'll never be Eddie Van Halen, but that's okay. If you'll listen, I'll play it for you. If you've heard it, sing along. There is nothing better than to hear other people singing your lyrics along with you. Well, almost nothing.
