Album Notes

For Stevie G. and The Rockerz, the chorus “I got to go somewhere were there’s salt in the air and I can get some Sand In My Shoes” really says it all. Where else would you rather be than on a beach with an ice-cold drink in your hand and your feet in the sand? Sand In My Shoes is the new release from this Atlanta-based group. Formed in 1995, The Rockerz are a group of studio and live performers that bring this 10-song set to life and take you on a journey you’ll not soon forget. The brainchild of Singer / Songwriter Steve Guettler, Sand In My Shoes puts an “old school” twist to the new vein of Country Rock. Schooled in the stylings of Delbert McClinton and Jimmy Buffet, Stevie G. and The Rockerz captivate both mind and spirit across an entire spectrum of experiences ranging from WILD beach parties to the Blues. Supported at its foundation by Jeff Strickler (Bass) and Ray Thackston (Drums), the band holds fast to its rock and blues roots with “Hit The Door” and Bluer Than The Blues”. Brad Slipiec (Keyboards) shows complete virtuosity of his instrument, especially on “Since You’re Gone”. Chance Bush (Guitar), Steve Farrell and Stevie G. add their own brand of fire to the lead guitar work and George Dalman (Sax) delivers a set of performances reminiscent of Charlie Parker and Clarence Clemons throughout the CD. Stevie G. is a multi-instrumentalist who is known for his Powerfully Soulful vocal performances. Add to that his guitar and harmonica proficiency, and this CD really has something for everyone!
