Album Notes

Fred Stickley's "All About Horses" isn't at all about horses, but it is about a variety of musical textures.

Jazz, blues and R&B-infused pop, Fred's tunes expertly weave together classic roots, all propelled by his strong sense of melody and lyric.

An ex-keyboardist for John Hiatt, Stickley's music can be compared to that of Steely Dan, Sting and Traffic, yet still his own.

If you haven't seen his live show, this is your chance to catch one of Portland Oregon's brightest new talents, featuring his band, "The Flying Stickleys".

A great effort that should have gotten more attention. Catchy melodies, professional musicianship and good production values. The only weakness is the lyrics: They're "OK", but nothing we haven't heard before.

Expertly crafted and layered . . . a collection where the music is rich and the lyrics are watertight - no one outweighing the other.
