Album Notes

We like to think of ourselves as an old-time band, playing acoustic music with deep roots in rural North Carolina tradition, but can't deny that we have other influences. In our music you are certain to hear a little bluegrass, some classic country and a touch of the blues; you might even notice some rock, pop or jazz riffs. We grew up with all this great music and it just works its way in. Regardless of where it came from, the music we make is distinctly our own. We really enjoy it, and hope you will too.

REVIEWS

A great album for lovers of genuine Old Time music.
author: Ian Hartland
Having thoroughly enjoyed their album "Thanks A Lot", I wondered if this earlier recording would be as difficult to remove from my CD player. I needn't have worried - this album is an absolute gem with verions of familiar and not so familiar songs, I particularly loved the wistful version of "Sail Away Ladies". The tunes are all exciting and the two live tracks show what these boys can do in front of an audience. This will be a permanent feature in my CD player for a few months yet! There are plenty of bands out there playing Old Time music, but the Stillhouse boys are the real thing - accept no substitutes!
