Album Notes

We like to think of ourselves as an old-time band, playing acoustic music with deep roots in rural North Carolina tradition, but can't deny that we have other influences. In our music you are certain to hear a little bluegrass, some classic country and a touch of the blues; you might even notice some rock, pop or jazz riffs. We grew up with all this great music and it just works its way in. Regardless of where it came from, the music we make is distinctly our own. We really enjoy it, and hope you will too.

Thanks a lot!
author: Scott Carson
I heard the song Thanks A Lot covered by a band here in NYC. I did a search for it and it turns out it was this band. I bought it and the CD is great. I played it in my office and a woman I worked with loved it so much she says she's ordering it too. You know these guys are good when other bands are covering their stuff!

Wow, these guys certainly know their way around a mean tune or a great song. Right from the start, this album steams along with some great ensemble playing. The album is also nicely varied in pace and style, and that has to be the definitive version of "Gentle On My Mind". Not a duff track on a great album - Old Time should always sound like this!
