Album Notes

This is the debut CD from the new duo configuration of 'Still on the Hill'.

Chaos & Calm established the duo of Kelly Mulhollan and Donna Stjerna as innovators in the studio as well as on the stage. This CD is a folk tapestry - colorful, acoustic threads of song are eloquently woven into a richly textured sound-scape. The songs are a warm, electic mix of bluegrass, folk, and classical sensibilities. The traditional element is never bound and tethered, but rather, set free like a bard of old and allowed to wander.

Many of their concert favorites are included in this body of work such as "Beautiful Butterfly" (for Julia Butterfly Hill) "Scarecrow", "Words on Birds", and "What I Believe".

Eclectic style mixed with fine muscianship and masterful songwriting
author: Mary Ann Roser
These folk/bluegrass troubadors from the Ozarks, Donna Henschell and Kelly Mulhollan, have an amazingly robust sound for a duo. Chaos & Calm never ceases to surprise. It blends traditional and modern sounds seamlessly. Much of the record has a haunting, hypnotic quality, aptly wrapped up with Moon of the Popping Trees. Have a listen. Be mesmerized.
