notes
"A truly gifted player whose vocals provide a steady balance to some masterful guitar work. Love the instrumentals!"
Dave Illman - Program Director, Y92 FM Lindsay ON
Tom Stinson, a Roots singer/songwriter and Fingerstyle guitarist whose songs have been described as a "musical journey" and his instrumentals as "an awesome display of acoustic guitar mastery", has released his second
album titled "A Search for Peace". Selections of "A Search for Peace" have been reviewed and received great praise. "In his latest project Stinson reveals another side of his songwriting skills a lyrical and vocal skill, not previously displayed in recordings... a pleasant surprise in not only vocal ability but also liquid like lyrics."
Charlie Hodge - The Okanagan Musician
This album is a journey from some darker reflections on life and the world to those things in life that provide the peace that we need to survive. It begins with songs about urbanization and the loses that some rural communities feel because of this social trend. A Search For Peace then moves to the subjects of war, homelessness and the grief of losing a friend but then turns around with songs about love, family and the peace that these provide no matter what else is going on in the world. All of these songs are interspersed with guitar instrumentals to provide a relaxing flow.

Soul and Emotion and 6 Strings
author: James HarveyFrom the moment you press play, you will be in awe of this talented Singer songwriter from the west. Many of the songs are hypnotic, even haunting in a way, very much in the vein of a Neil Young or Bruce Cockburn, two great Canadian artists, and Tom is right up there with them. The instrumentals on the album are both complex and beautiful. Tom shows real mastery of his intrument with every note. This collection of songs shows a real gift for song-writing, playing, and arranging. A joy to listen to from start to finish, well done Tommy!
