Hailing from the greater Chicagoland area in Gary, Indiana, (currently resides on the gulf coast) Jim St. James has been a popular figure in the performing singer songwriter genre for many years. His unmistakeable trademark style started to emerge in the mid 1980’s and he began performing at various open mics and writers jams in Northwest Indiana while operating his own bohemic styled, music theatre where he has booked hundreds of bands and artists over the years.

Restless to be ‘heard’ as a songwriter and composer, he left Indiana in the late 90’s and spent substantial time living and performing in Nashville, Los Angeles and Austin, while further honing his skills and building a name for himself on the country, americana and pop rock scenes. In 2007, his song ‘Caroline’ went to number 1 on several independant music charts. He is currently listed at #1 in the singer songwriter Reverbnation charts for Pensacola Florida and was formerly in the same capacity on the charts for Chicago, Illinois and #10 for Nashville, Tennessee on the folk/acoustic charts.. Nationally, he is listed at #56 out of 2038 singer songwriters registered with Reverbnation and #87 worldwide out of 3087 globally registered singer songwriters on the Reverb Charts.

He is currently booking for his ‘Eternal Tour’ which kicks off this spring in NW Indiana and will take him to multiple locations throughout the US in 2011, mainly along the gulf coast from Corpus Christi, Texas to Pensacola, Florida..
