Album Notes

Stompin' Ground is a hard-rockin' Baton Rouge, Louisiana based band. With a live show that is riveting, and a fan base that borders on rabid, they have built a solid following across the south. Their sound is a cross between the Black Crowes, Candlebox, with a touch of Led Zeppelin, which is a welcome change from the rap-rock that dominates the airwaves these days. Make no mistakes about it, these boys are from the south. The heavy rockin' blues tinge of their music is captivating, if not enticing to the listener. The high caliber of musicianship of this band is evident after hearing one song. If you like your vocalist along the Robert Plant/Chris Robinson lines, do yourself a favor check these guys out!

Stompin' Ground are:

Shannon Cobb - vocals
Johnny Wilson - bass and background vocals
Mike Lofton - guitar and background vocals
Johnny Culmone - drums and percussion

REVIEWS

This band is HOT!
author: J. Weidner/technojoe
I was shocked to find that there was NO BIO, nor "review" posted for this band! I took a listen and was shocked at how GOOOD this band was! I guess if you are "good" you don't need alot of hype or reviewing? [ha] But these guys [assuming they are an all male band?] remind me of some "early Clapton", from back in the CREAM days! The lead singer has an AWESOME set of pipes! There is also a few places when I could swear I was hearing ZEPPLIN on "Whole Lotta Love"! Wow! Those were the days! Hey guys! KEEP THE HITS A COMIN! You are TOPS!

Pure heavy rock-n-roll bliss in the style of Zep!

This cd has a sound we aren't allowed to here on MTV anymore! It's pure retro-rock with all the power of modern music. Songs like, Live For The Strange, build up to a thunderous-rollinckin' fever that holds onto you through out the whole cd. The slide guitar work is a treat! Some of my favorite tracks are...Earthshake, When You're Alone, and of course, Live For The Strange.
