Album Notes

Stone 588 was founded in 1992 by Dave Rhine and Terri Kennedy. The sound is comprised of ferocious rhythms and sinuous, liquid guitars awash with cavernous sounds emanating from beneath a murky depth. Female vocals range from melodic and operatic to fierce and chilling. Lyrics are culled from literary influences and explore supernatural, mythic and historical subjects.

The band has self-released three cassettes, 3 cds (Door in the Dragon's Throat-1995, Midnight Claret-2000; Eden's Eyes 2007)and working on a fourth 2008 cd release. They have also appeared on over 20 compilation cds worldwide, and also have had television/ film appearances and international radio airplay. They play live in the Los Angeles area regularly and have supported such acts as Rozz Williams, Eva O, This Ascension, Dave Vanian, The Last Dance and others.

Vocalist Terri Kennedy has contributed guest vocals for numerous recordings outside of Stone 588 including Hexadene, Dichroic Mirror and touring with Faith and the Muse as a backing vocalist.

Dave Rhine and Jon McFerson have played in several bands together since the 80's, notably the seminal goth band Guts on the Floor, Lycanthropy, The Beings, with Jon also performing in The Arrogants.

Stephen (Sandman) Sands also plays in The Lott and does sound design for local live theatre.
