This sophomore release...
author: Edward Fraser

This sophomore release from Scott Philipp and The Stonebaby Band is rather more relaxed and laid-back than their premier release, "Delusions Of Grandeur". "Just Another Day", the title track, is a lyrical love song; polished and professional, it looks at the sameness of love in a long-term setting without denying the constant renewal of excitement. The second track, "Guinnevere" is a paean to Scott's daughter; slow and melodic, it follows her through the typical day of a young child who still sees magic in the everyday world. "P.S. I Love You" continues the laid-back, matter-of-fact feel with a soulful chorus. "Give Until It Hurts" More energy, with an excellent acoustic guitar lead by composer Craig Simon. "One Fing (It's Too Late)" A redefinition of much-loved catalog classic 'One Finger', which looks at the difficulties of romance in the public eye. "Tomorrow" has nice popsy melodies, and continues the relaxed feel. "Spaceman and the Monkey" The second track composed by Craig Simon, long-time guitar professional (and it shows); beat-driven and funky. "Signs" Another song from Scott's catalog refinished with a less frenzied feel. "Silent Movie" A newer addition to the catalog, this has a very haunting, nostalgic feel - laid back and melancholy.
