Going for the Big Sound, the Big Emotions, the Big Excitement. 6 tracks have been making the rounds on College stations and internet radio casts. '(You Make Me Feel) Alive' is getting the remix treatment from synthpop band Ganymede, with their Cohaagen release of 'Evolution' out in March. The 'Somewhere In The Night Sky' CD has been top 10 at College stations WMSE, Milwaukee, WZBC in Bostson, plus stations in New York, Alburquerque and Dayton. Songs have also been getting play in Bergen, Norway, Qubec, Canada, and London, England. We've gone Global!
So, about the music...In contrast to 'Deadly', 'Somewhere..' is much more organic. Acoustic and electric guitars, a string quartet, lush background vocals, at times live bass, flute and piano. Like Kate Bush, or Peter Gabriel, the styles and sounds are cohesive because of a musical vision, a sense of story, and atmosphere. "There is someone living inside your dreams, there is something living inside your eyes, moving behind the scenes-under the midnight sky." The door is open, come inside...

people into well done, well arranged music will really dig this
author: Lexicon Magazine
This isn't like anything out there! Not exactly synthpop, not exactly rock, heck not exactly pigeon hole-able. Fans of Shriekback, Faith Assembly or even Color Theory will appreciate the willingness to spice up the music. Lots of strings make this album sound so different, yet so easy to slip into. It is clear Michael Grady knows how to write a knock out song, his ability has only improved since last time. This album should have wide appeal, highly recommended.

Recommended Without Hesitaion
author: Carl Jenkinson, The Source, London, England
The new CD shows a step forward in their style. The whole thing seems more polished with greater accoustic interplay with a number of guest musicians. It would seem that Grady has spent the time between albums learning how to unlock the full dynamic potential of his music as many choruses used really soar.

Otherworldly, yet touches of familiar
author: Julie Gehm
This CD explores that which is sometimes inaccessible. It has Strange Angels' unique, otherworldly quality. The music has lush orchestration, beautiful melodies, and Michael Grady's incredibly evocative voice. Yet I detected a slight touch of mariachi in The Answer! It's hard to pick a favorite song on this CD, it's so good, but be sure to listen for Beautiful and Haunted. Highly recommended.

Otherworldly, yet touches of familiar

In my other review on this CD, I made the mistake of saying that "The Answer" has a touch of mariachi. The song "Midnight Sky" has that distinction, though it's only a hint. It's also one of my favorite songs on this CD. The songs "The Question" and "The Answer" go hand in hand--they have essentially the same lyrics, yet they're definitely coming from very different and similar viewpoints. (Strange?) Strange Angels' music, along with Michael Grady's incredibly evocative vocals, will grow on you the more you listen to it. Highly recommended!
