Album Notes

"Keith Thompson's Strange Brew" are a classic British Blues/Rock band - In the style of blues heros such as Gary Moore, Eric Clapton and Rory Gallagher.Keith Thompson, is a professional musician with many years performing experience. He has worked in several bands, and as a solo artist. He has travelled extensively in the UK. and in European countries such as Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland and Norway. Recently Keith also did a promotional tour in USA. When not touring or playing "live", Keith has been in demand as a session musician in the studio. His guitar work has cropped up on several albums and on television "incidental" music. A sample of Keith's guitar work can also be heard as the soundtrack for the best selling computer game, "Grand-Prix 2". Keith combines his experience as a guitarist with his skills as a successful songwriter to come up with a blend of UK Blues/Rock that really cooks!

Timeless music from a big talent
author: Tony Cummings
Keith is undoubtedly one of Britain’s most underrated musicians as anyone who's heard him in concert playing with artists like Margaret Becker (USA) will know. His occasional albums have been well worth searching out too and thanks to a Swiss record company he's emerged with a fresh coat of paint and a new band who play blues rock and blues like seasoned troupers. Keith's faith shows through and the haunting piano-led "Higher Ground" is a beautiful closer. But mainly it's the scorching axe of Mr Thompson which propels things forward and with the effervescent opener "Cat Scratch Crazy", the jaunty "I'm Tore Down" complete with raunchy horn section and the mean and dirty "Reduce Me To Tears" this is timeless music from a big talent.

This album rocks! This is a fantastic example of British blues/rock.

This album rocks! This is definately a great example of British blues/rock. Loads of fiery guitar playing from Keith. The band is apparently doing well in Europe at the moment. Not surprized to hear that. There is a lot of strength in the songs. A definate cut above the average in terms of content. Lots of subtlety, as in the acoustic "Heart & Soul" but personally I love it when they rock out as on "I'm not Your Victim" and "Little Boy" Grab it now!

Great guitar
author: Dave
Hints of Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher (especially on the slide guitar on "Little Boy") Like the shredding on "Victim" as well.

Kicking no compromise rock blues guitar, great songs, excellent.
author: Tony Cooke
If you like rock blues this is a great album. Profound and challenging lyrics and powerful music. Keith Thompson is a fantastic all-round musician, but the guitar is the best - wailing at times, raunchy at others - how can ANYONE move their fingers that fast and accurately?! For me, best tracks are Cat Scratch Crazy, I'm Not Your Victim, Little Boy. Real heart and soul music with great brass section, thundering bass lines, solid drums - I love it and it deserves much wider appreciation. BUY IT and enjoy!
