Album Notes

"Rising jamband"* Strange Pleasures has grown from an Omaha, Nebraska mainstay to a regional favorite and international conspiracy. Weaving rock, funk, blues, jazz, and psychedelic pop influences into an eerily cohesive texture, Strange Pleasures brings a powerful original sound with strong vocals and accomplished players. Hooking crowds of tour kids and barflies with danceable twirls, jam-friendly covers, and insightful and sarcastic lyrics, the band enjoys launching the party at whim into the improvisational Netherworld with explosive synergy and pinpoint accuracy. Lost in the swirls, the pulse returns and quickens again, leaving a thirst for more...

"For a psychedelic-style groove session, check out Strange Pleasures...the band incorporates rhythm and blues and even some jazz (that) Deadheads and Phishheads will no doubt appreciate...And the band members are so nice." -Leslie Prisbell, The Reader (Omaha NE), 5/9/01

"Omaha's premier jam band Strange Pleasures will be releasing their new CD, Waiting For Art, [which] features the band's trademark roots and jam sound, and is easily digested due to shorter track lengths and some nice pop elements." MarQ Manner, The Reader (Omaha NE), 8/21/02

"Strange Pleasures is a band without pretensions. They come to have fun. They play with an energy and excitement that most bands can only do for the first couple times they hit the stage...They play with a good attitude and force that makes them a favorite here."
-Jay Bianchi -Quixote's True Blue Cafe, Denver CO
