When speaking of American Reggae music, it is viewed as an imitation of the true Jamaican art form. The main focus tends to be on creating a likeness of the sound, many times abandoning the passion and message that initially drove the music. People raised in the United States do not have one particular culture to identify with; therefore leaving plenty of room for many cultures and ideals to melt together. Stranger is a solid example of what this melting can create and offer the rest of the world. Based out of the South Bay of San Diego, neighboring the highest crossed border in the World, the band draws influence from the diversity of the people around them as well as each other. It is multicultural and musical diversity that gives Stranger a unique, yet true, presence that is turning heads nation-wide and abroad. Stranger’s sound is known for blending Reggae Roots with many styles ranging from (but not limiting to) Rock to Hip-Hop to Blues while offering the listener Universal messages of life, love and spirituality. The live shows that Stranger produces are power packed and each performance is individually unique. The band’s chemistry on-stage and off cannot be duplicated, with each member acting as an irreplaceable element to the formula. Since the seed was planted in 2000, the band has been growing with a strong fan base that they feel truly blessed to have. While remaining optimistic for the future, Stranger is well aware of possible "stumbling blocks" that lie ahead and take each and every one as a learning experience.
