Great comeback record!
author: Björn Hellström
As a longtime fan of the bands early output I was very pleased to hear that they have moved on and still can make a contemporary record like this. In fact they are now even better than they were twenty years ago. The songs are in synthpoprock vein with echoes of Bowie, Roxy Music, Japan etc but still manage to sound very modern. I love this album and it doesn't have one bad song. Just listen and enjoy!
PS. I just wish they could release their old Midge Ure-produced album on cd. That surely would make my day!

Methods of dark brightness
author: Zemlocc
TF is the hardest soft-spoken hardhitting artzy rock'n'pop cucktail that leaves you lobotomised but still clear-headed. And that's just after your first spin!
After a repeated abuse of this little masterpiece in the darker dwellings and other associates there are a few tracks that are quite remarkable:
The opening pop-rockers One of the Aliens and Dying for the Wild Life sets you in a get-up-and-go mode, makes you wanna check out the accompaning videos on a chanel near you. Songs Belle Gravia, The Stranger in Your Eye and What Can You Do has a softer tone with mezmerising melodies and intricate but simple arrangements.
Scott Walker and David Sylvian went to write some material for the next Bond-movie?
Neon Street could/would have been Depeche's next multi-hit singel (if they had the guts...)and is probably the song that is closest at the old Strasse-home.
Blue Town is the song Mr Bowie has been looking for the last ten years. Would someone give him a ring?
Well, that's it (and it comes with a great cover as well...)friend. Ready to die for the wild life?
Gimme another one - straight up!
