Album Notes

Recorded guerilla-style in numerous basements, bedrooms, bathrooms, cars, and kitchens from 2005 to 2007 with guest drums by Ryan Thornton of Sam Champion, oversight by Jack Petruzelli of Rufus Wainwright fame, and mastered by the Grammy Award-Winning Tom Ruff, "Captain John Braves The Mighty Raritan" is the electrifying debut album by New Jersey band, St. Sat B. The record is an absolutely beautiful mess of soaring harmonies, guitars distorted to hell, warm and spacious pianos, and glitchy electronics smashed into tracks about the fear of growing up and the joys of being young. The record shifts gears from fast-paced rock songs to acoustic confessionals to folk rolk sing-a-longs to low-end thumpers in the blink of eye without sounding like a collection of demos. It consistantly holds the listener's attention, a trait that's hard to come by in even the more popular indie rock records of today. Take a chance with this one. You won't regret it.
