Stu was inspired to write the song Soldier Boy, after reading a newspaper article about a young Canadian soldier named Cpl Stuart Langridge. Cpl Langridge was a member of Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) regiment.
He was a model soldier, and veteran of Bosnia and Afghanistan.
Unfortunately, after returning home to Canada, Stuart Langridge suffered badly from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and ultimately lost his life to the disorder.
After Stu wrote the song, his immediate goal was to present it to the parents of Cpl Langridge as a tribute to their son.

The Multi-talented Musician/Producer/Engineer Daniel Ross, of Langley BC, heard of Stu's song and Cpl Langridge's story through a mutual friend, and offered his help and expertise in engineering and producing the project.
Stu Aspinall and Daniel Ross teamed up together to perform the single in it's finished version.
In early July of 2011, the final version of the song was completed. Stu then met Stuart Langridge's parents and completed his goal by presenting 'Soldier Boy' to the family.

He wanted to get the song out not only to help recognize the sacrifices Soldiers make, but also as a tribute to Soldiers the world over.
Stu has committed to giving proceeds from the downloads of this single to support programs designed to help soldiers suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
He would like to thank Daniel Ross for his engineering and producing....and for his amazing musicianship, professionalism, and patience.
