You don't build a reputation on what you are going to do. To Stupendous, one of Oregon's premiere rap artists, these are defining words to live by. After making up his mind to get into rap during high-school, he has since gone on to start up his own label and release two full length albums completely independently. Known for his free-wheeling wordplay (and the ability to make your head bounce like a sumo on a trampoline), Stupendous provides a commanding new sound to represent the Northwest.
Originally from Albany, Oregon, Stupendous' rap endeavors were taken to another level when he moved to Eugene, OR in 2002 to attend college at the University of Oregon. After recording and mixing his first album (almost entirely in his dorm room), the debut album "Underestimated" was released in 2003 under his self-established label Golden Mic Entertainment. While a small buzz was created and his name began to receive a bit more recognition, the album was relatively unsuccessful – selling only a few hundred copies. But what was gained out of releasing the first album was the experience and knowledge of how the underground hip-hop market works.
Fast-forward two years ahead. Stupendous is doing shows all throughout Eugene and Salem. While busy with a full class schedule and a part-time job, Stupendous was also at work spreading his name, his music, and recording the highest quality tracks possible for his new album. Finally, in June 2006, the new album "Missing" was released. Missing has taken those listening on a ride that shows the evolution of an artist, the discovery of personal style, and the formulation of a longtime vision.
Stupendous has been featured on several different albums from artists such as Bullet, The Kid Espi, Lil Fats, and Fresh, as well as the Streetz.org original compilation, and the Tracktown Compilation. What he is going to do in the future isn't nearly as important as what he is doing now.

Sophomore Album Is A Must

Stupendous has shattered the sophomore curse with his latest release, Missing. Great CD to throw on at parties or bump in your car. Stu's second album is drivin with clever ryhmes that are well matched with beats that flow and hit like a fat woman's period!

Jack and Coke kids...

Alright, I've heard a few of the songs on a pre-release so I kind of had an idea of how tight it was gonna be, but the album itself exceeded all expectations I had ten fold! The cd is a brilliant mix of underground styles minus the preachiness mixed with big city beats that blend like Jack and Coke. In my opinion the strongest track by far is Mint Condition. Its one of those tracks that you can be proud bumping in your car making the strong bassline, unique drum patterns, and silky smooth lyrics echo through the streets. This is rap the way it should be. Watch out for this guy sportsfans, Stupendous is goin places...

Well done Stupendous

Not being a huge fan of Stupendous's first CD, I have to say I love this one. Each time I listen to it, I hear a new, witty line that I had previously missed. I definitely recommend it. Best track: "Hollow Man". The "Southern Man" sample works really well. The only thing better than the CD is the live show.
