Their new album Bright Stars and Battle Scars is an emotional tale of life. That word "emotional" gets thrown around a lot when describing music, especially when trying to define a genre (the "emo" stereotype), but Stu's Shoes has the extraordinary capability of resonating their expressive music with their listener while remaining neither sappy nor whiney. Physically it's soothing, light, senses-pleasing pop-rock. Psychologically, it's like eating chocolate; it's sweet and it makes you feel content. People seek contentment above all else, it's one of the bases of the hierarchy of needs.
