John(Suavee)McGill, born in Indianapolis, In. Graduated from North Central HS in 1984, pursued the military, honorably discharged with honors from the Army. Being active in High school band, Jazz Band, Church Choirs, as pianoist and organist, also able to play the bass guitar, lead guitar, drums, and the trumpet. Began writing songs at age 7, expounding on jazz and gospel. Played with many professionals in the industry from R&B, Gospel and Jazz. He has written and composed many songs, and arrangements for many talented artist. His many mentors including, Theolonius Monk, Miles davis, Joe Sample, Doc Powell, Alex Bugnon, Ramsey Lewis, Art Porter, and many more which has contributed to his style. He truly believes in love, so he began to write many love ballads, but also likes to get loose and express live moving music that makes you want to swing. Suavee began his own record label in 2000 and created many demos for many artist. Now happy, and excited to be completing his sophmore Cd project titled "Suavee's Groove", continuing the rollercoaster ride. Not only has Suavee out did his freshman project, He puts more excitement in this project, more swing, more rifts, and makes the smoothest love ballads you have ever heard, and puts together more extended piano solos. Not only is Suavee just doing his own thing, but He is also bringing in new talent to the jazz scene, helping them on their projects, continuing to mentor new rising talent, and continues to deliver on His promise to keep his music original. Suavee is proving to be a maestro in his music category Jazz. Suavee is also working on His Gospel Project slated for release in 2008, and promises to keep getting better, and to deliver what the fans want, a new sound, being all original.
