Album Notes

Subha is an Asian-Indian, who learned to play various keyboard instruments like harmonium (an accordion like instrument), accordion, during his high school. A self-taught musician with no formal training in music. While learning to keyboards, he got a fair amount of exposure to Indian classical music, which encompasses a massive volume of melodies, known in Sanskrit as Raga.

Later in the early 80s, Subha got influenced by British and American Rock/Pop music like FlashDance soundtrack, Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack, Wham featuring George Michael, Phil Collins, Genesis, Police, Sting, Laura Branigan featuring the hit song Self Control, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna and others who used Electronic Synthesizers.

In the 90s when Subha came to US and moved to Bay Area, he was fascinated by New Age/Jazz music like: Keiko Matsui, Chris Spheeris, Yanni, Art of Noise, The Jazz Masters, Annie Lennox, Craig Chaquico, Loreena McKennitt and in particular artists featured on KKSF 103.7 FM (SF).

Melody is a very important centerpiece in the music of Illusions. Other music elements like Rhythms, percussion, bass, and various instrumental arrangements fall in place later on.

The artist currently lives in Southern Orange County in the city of Mission Viejo, CA working on his next album titled "Dew Drops".
