Album Notes

Back when Sue Keller founded Ragtime Press in Brooklyn, she spent a bit of time in the Sheepshead Bay post office doing her mailing. One afternoon a young postal clerk commented, upon spying the Ragtime Press return address, "Oh, my grandfather wrote a little ragtime." Imagine Sue's shock when she learned she was talking to the granddaughter of Joseph F. Lamb, one of the greatest Ragtime composers in history. Not long after that, the girl's mother, Paticia Lamb Conn introduced herself at a festival and they became fast friends. But the biggest suprise came in 2002 when Patricia dropped a load of her fathers unpublished manuscripts into Sue's lap. It took Sue 3 years to edit and publish the material. And now she's recorded it all on this CD, even roping Particia into joining her on one of the vocals.

Sue Keller is the Artistic Director for the Scott Joplin Festival held annually in Sedalia, Missouri.

REVIEWS

A Little Lost Lamb
author: Jack Hamshar
This is a fun ragtime CD, musically excellent and historically significant. The lyrics are a hoot. Many thanks to Sue Keller and to Patricia Lamb Conn for the fine effort making these works available. I attended the concert in Sedalia, and enjoy playing the Alaskan Rag-arguably the finest rag ever written. I like all the classic ragtime composers, but there\'s something special about Joe Lamb.
