notes

There's no substitute for a live performance if you really want to know what a musician is all about. Here we have one of the most explosive and exciting Ragtime, Boogie, Stride, and Blues performers ever. Add to that an audience that hangs on every note and an instrument that just may be one of the finest on the planet... a 9 foot 2 Fazioli Grand Piano with ox-bone keys. If you couldn't be there to experience it, maybe this recording will give you an idea of what you missed.

Have you ever wondered how an artist like Sue Keller adapts to an unfamiliar piano in a place she's never been before? This CD includes a recording of the sound check as bonus tracks 17 through 20. First encounters, of the Sue Keller kind. Amazingly, it took her about 10 seconds to tilt her head back and plug herself into the place.

Sue Keller is the Artistic Director for the Scott Joplin Festival held annually in Sedalia, Missouri.

She just has it. Period. Wonderous piano, and a voice that washes the sand over your body. I love her sound. She gives us back real ragtime, and real work. Zoe told me to say that!!
