From the small town of Cobourg, Ontario, comes singer/ songwriter, Sue Passmore. Now a resident of the Toronto music scene, Sue has taken opportunity to perform in a variety of venues. The scope of Sue’s experience runs from intimate bar and club performances as a singer/songwriter, to a packed house at the Molson Amphitheatre’s House of Blues stage as a member of electro-lounge group Bluesativa, to appearances with Toronto’s Kings of Swing production singing Andrews Sisters favourites.
In January of 2004, Bluesativa, which consisted of members Joel Stouffer (Dragonette), Adam King (Andy Stochansky, Adam King Production), Graeme Cornies (Voodoo Highway Music & Post Inc.), Dustin Harris (Cancel Winter), and Miss Passmore, released their self-titled album to rave reviews from fans. As the group began to dissolve in 2005, Sue began recording her debut solo album. 87 Miles was released in January of 2006, and Sue’s solo career was launched.
“I am incredibly excited about 87 Miles - what a fantastic experience it has been! So many great musicians had a hand in making the album happen, and I really couldn’t be happier with the result.”
87 Miles is refreshingly tangible and beautifully performed. “Her lead off single "Back Home" is a wonderful up-tempo song about heartache and discovery; fans of Nelly Furtado and Sheryl Crow will appreciate Passmore's passion…” says Chris White, publisher of PartyInKingston.com. Back Home has also been featured on CBC Radio, College Radio, Internet radio, various podcasts, and was selected in February 2006 as one of the top 5 songs in the Songwriter Universe contest. Sue also continues to collaborate with various musicians and producers in what seems to be the characteristic itinerant approach of the independent music scene today.
Sue maintains a steady performance schedule in the Greater Toronto Area, and is moving beyond those borders as more opportunities present themselves.
87 Miles was produced by Adam King Production (Methodology, Fat Cats, Run With The Kittens, Bluesativa, J's Basement, Ian North, Jeremy Parnell, Craig Cardiff).

Wonderful Expressive voice!
author: Ennio
I remember playing a singer/songwriter night with Sue years ago and being floored at the wonderous ability she has in emoting every aspect of her wonderful lyrics. Since that show that was about 3-4 years ago, I have been actively searching for Sue's music and re-listening to the recording of her performances that night (and the answer to your question is yes, I am that obsessive). So now that I finally have a copy of her wonderful songs I feel more complete. Her smooth voice is remarkably ranged and the arrangements on this album blend so seamlessly that it seems to grab hold of you and keep you in its grasp until the album has finished. My favourites include "10 & 2" (a song that I as a musician am beginning to cover at my own performances) "Detroit", "Back Home", "Sanctuary" & "So You Ran Away". I am an avid fan of Sue's and will continue to stay tuned to see what she does next.
