Album Notes

SUGAR BAYOU is April Rapier, Bob Oldreive, Joe Lindley, Bob Minke, Andy Moritz & Grammy-nominated drummer & producer Robbie Parrish, who write & play eclectic acoustic Americana-infused with folk, swingy blues, Celtic, bluegrass, Cajun & South American traditions (& a touch of rockin' country). Newest member Bob Minke plays red hot banjo & guitar-a stellar addition. Mandolin, fiddle, dobro & guitar (to name but a few) join forces with ethereal & layered harmony vocals for a joyful, articulate, extreme-energy performance. Joe and Bob O. draw upon thirty years experience playing together, bouncing off each other's intricate, rich & iconographic sounds. Some of the musicians who added their talents to the CD are: Shannon Cutts-exquisite mandolin, Adam Cutts (voted "Texas' Favorite Fiddler"), accordion wizard Greg Harbar & elegant piper E. J. Jones. "Nowhere But Gone" is Sugar Bayou's first CD, recorded at SugarHill Studios, produced by Robbie Parrish, co-produced by April Rapier & Bob Oldreive, engineered by Andy Bradley & mastered by Alan Corneau. Their second CD, "Dance Hall Incident" was released in October 2006. Both CDs have received extensive airplay here and abroad and enjoy both critical acclaim and a vast, devoted fan base.
