Andrue began creating a bit of an international buzz with his debut EP, Love Prophecies. Through that collection of stripped-down solo performances, he gained a prestigious Featured Artist spot at JeffBuckley.com's Peyote Radio Theater, and showed us the truly moving starting point for his unique sound.
This new release, A Breath In Two, takes Andrue's songwriting to another place and to another level. The songs featured here give us a much clearer idea of where exactly he is coming from, and we are finally able to hear things that the EP only hinted at. The overall sound is larger and much more direct, coupled with arrangements that truly permit the songs to come into their own.
In addition to being songwriter and engineer for the production of A Breath In Two, Andrue also performed all the instruments heard on the album. No loops or programmed sounds are to be found. Andrue's musical influences are wide-reaching (spanning the gamuts of rock, jazz, classical, folk, etc), and the result here is a darkly tinged alternative/pop/rock blend, which leans toward introspective and emotional themes. His strong vocals have earned him comparisons to such artists as David Bowie, Jeff Buckley, Freddie Mercury and others.
