Album Notes

Formed in 2005 as a "new voice" for the ignored 35-and-over crowd who still love hard rock music, The John Sullivan Brigade is a musically diverse bunch of rockers that have created an atmosphere of power and professionalism throughout the New York City metro area and beyond.

John Sullivan the founder/songwriter who developed into a vocalist/guitarist/pianist on the indie rock circuit since the mid-1990s, released the first untitled 10-song CD in the fall of 2005. Long-time rock fans will hear similarities to such rockers such as the Who, the Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, the Clash, Pearl Jam and Ben Folds Five on the band's release.

As for the Brigade itself, it is George Gelish's steady mix of melodic backing vocals and rhythmic bass, Johnny Leone's swirling tenor, soprano and alto saxophone sounds, Steve Glover's three-plus decades of power drumming and percussive experiences and Russ Rogers's varied acoustic and electric stylings that are prominently displayed in concert and in the recording studio.

The band's second release, A Sound Opportunity For Your Last Music Purchase, will be officially out in January 2008 on CD. This 12-song project (co-produced with Doug Kwartler) expands their core sound, incorporating newer elements such as saxophone, pedal steel guitar, a string quartet, and mandolin into the mix.

So come join the musical experience that is The John Sullivan Brigade. You will not be disappointed!
