Che Swing!
author: Musilosophy
Mamma mia come swinga il pianista!
Yeaah! Ottimo improvvisatore che mi ricorda Oscar Peterson e Bud Powell:grande tecnica.
Ottimo anche il sostegno ritmico del contrabbasso e della batteria.

The Sultans Of Swing play (we guessed it) swing.
author: Andrea Donnini
The Sultans Of Swing play (we guessed it) swing.
Featuring local hero Syl Greats on piano, with sidemen Rice Lumps on double and piccolo bass and Al Cardinals on drums, this trio play some really hot jazz. The album presents us with enthusiastically executed versions of forties and fifties standards by artists such as Ellington, Gershwin and one original track that gives us the albums' title " All The Things We Are".
Syl has an innate love with what was once called "modern jazz" and this transpires in his so natural interpretations, he's been playing this stuff since the forties when he was a sprightly young 16 year old, he and drummer Al Cardinals have often performed together over the past 50 years or so. With a masterful Rice Lumps on bass, the “ boys” really do know how to hammer out a good tune. Drycastle has very wisely put down to record this gentlemans' rare qualities and give us a chance to appreciate this otherwise undiscoverd talent.

Great feeling, great swing
author: Adelia Mazzi
This is a honest tribute to the best jazz from the fifties;
Syl Greats, the pianist, plays exactly in style,
without the "contaminations" of the 60's modal jazz,
always inside the armony and groove.
Al Cardinals and Rice Lumps play essential rhythm without falling in technical demostrations, only under swing's favour.
This is a great example how jazz music can be relaxing,
touching and inspired.
