Album Notes

Summerhead's "Liberation" touches on electronic pop while displaying a clear emphasis on experimentalism. Like Summerhead's previous albums, "Liberation" portrays Holmes' and Gary Svedin's interest in creating something that is uniquely beautiful on top of a beat. Summerhead's influences during this album ranged from Moby and Air to Miles Davis and minimalist composer, Michael Nyman.

While being fond of instrumentals, Summerhad invites some vocalists to participate on each of their albums. Liberation features vocals from Iberis on the Dido-influenced track "Winterplace", and vocals for "Deer Hunter" and "Drown" are provided by hip hop artist, Josiah.
