Sunlea started as an acoustic two-man duo in a tiny back bar in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2005. They did cover songs and drank beer. As the years passed they began to write their own music. Sunlea took on new members and became a full-tilt rock n roll, boogie band. The group has evolved on stage and is prone to include long improvisational jams, high energy classic rock covers, straight up funk and even a reggae tune or two in their live sets.
Sunlea released "Shades of Rhythm" on November 5th at Beatnik's Bar in Worcester, Massachusetts as a nod to their roots. Their debut album "Shades of Rhythm" gives the listener a sample of all the eclectic styles and influences that Sunlea draws on. From folk to country to jazz, it's all in there! The CD Release Party was sold out and the crowd response was overwhelming: Sunlea is a live, rock n roll, force to be reckoned with. Start with the album, but make sure to get to one of their incendiary live performances in order to gain a true understanding of what Sunlea is all about: Partying, dancing and have a good time with your friends!
