Album Notes

"For my money, of all the modern bands it's The Supertones who best represent the spirit of The Ventures. They have that knack of treating cover versions in just the right way, retaining the essential ingredients and adding their own touches to develop an original performance. Surf Fever 2000 is their third CD and another winner from The Supertones" -- Alan Taylor, Pipeline Magazine

The Supertones, a New York City-based instrumental quartet, have been playing around NYC for the past ten years at places like The Greatest Bar on Earth, Luna Lounge, Wetlands, The Rodeo Bar, Manitoba's and Don Hill's, and recently added a semi-annual tour of Puerto Rico to their performance schedule. The Supertones compositions are also featured in reknowned surf documentarist, Bud Browne's recent movies including Surfing in the 50s, Cavalcade of Surf and Locked In. So belly up to the whammy bar and enjoy The Supertones!

Surfer's Delight!
author: R.Davey
The Supertones just keep providing first rate surf instrumental cds. This cd is no different. Top rate playing & top rate tunes equal a first class album. Some tunes are not normal to surf genre but the Supertones make them sound like they always were surf songs. They pay tribute to the Ventures and some of the other instro/surf bands and they do the songs the justice they deserve. I recommend this cd to anyone who loves surf reverb!
