Album Notes

"excerpts......" was recorded during the last 10 hours of a continuous 24 hour performance that took place in front of an invited audience in a circus tent on a village green in rural England, and embodies all that is wonderful about improvised music.

Possessing an inspired level of musicianship, The Surf Messengers here combine regular instrumentation with often unlikely and low-tech sound sources (TVs/ radios/ kitchen appliances/ kids instruments and toys/ vehicle parts; record players instead of turntables; first generation electronics) to create wondrous and sometimes disconcerting aural adventures.

There are eleven tracks here exploring various styles/genres from 'beat music' to 'noise'(and many stations in between).
With 'real-time' sampling of all manner of sounds the feel is fresh, quirky and full of suprize.

If you like your listening to be 'a bit different' (or a lot different, for that matter!), you'll love this.
