Soulsex contains tunes that are at times blatantly sensual, spiritual, and some are both. Sexuality and spirituality belong together and that is what this cd seeks to do. The style is rock with grooves-with hints of gospel, r&b and pop.

This is the re-mastered and re-packaged edition of the cd, Soulsex. The original cd cover was a bit of a disaster, as I tried to be "artistic" and only achieved "confusion"! This cover is straight-ahead - that's me on the cover! I've removed 2 tracks that are no longer relevant, and what remains sounds very good!
Soulsex was my first cd, and I recorded it in the mid 90's. I knew it was an apt title, and it was a word that needed to exist. Because I'm interested in the invisible aspects of things as well as what we call "physical", I came up with the name to bring all the ingredients of the songs together. To my mind, sexuality and spirituality cannot be separated at all, and I feel the world has wasted much too much time trying to do just that. There are a couple of songs here about raw sexuality (Sexuality and Intoxicated) and others about lost friendship (You'll Never Know), inspired love (Spinning), Mother Earth (Making Up For Lost Time), and growing up (Time To Be A Woman). Two songs are more blatantly spiritual in nature; Man-O-War is a metaphor for the human relationship with the Divine, and For Bear is acknowledgment of a hovering spirit. All of the songs are tied together with that most basic of energies -it is primal; sexual sometimes, but also the creative energy of everything that exists. Physical life is messy, fun, sexy, painful, exhilarating; but quantum physics tells us that all is united, all is moving, and all is one. Sex is soul, soul is always creating, and we are all swimming in the quantum soup of this creation and creations to be. For me, there is great comfort in this, because it more than implies a limitlessness to us and to all of life.
