ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Power of My Love for You is the digital re-release of an album created in 1986, produced by Terry Garthwaite of Joy of Cooking fame. All music and lyrics by Susan Savell, who is accompanied by a wide range of San Francisco Bay Area musicians.

Susan is a 4th generation native Californian. Her music reflects her love for the beauty of the high sierras and the pacific coastline, as well as the journey toward an authentic spirituality for women. The first side of the album is upbeat, including a song written to celebrate Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman, which has been sung by hundreds of communities around the country. "Mean Old Woman Blues" has become an anthem for women's gatherings.

One of her most inspiring songs was written at her mothers bedside in the intensive care unit in Santa Monica, California. "The Mama Trilogy" was completed after her death, with the sounds of "surrounded by the angels of love" bringing comfort and hope to all who have lost a loved one--which is everyone! Susan is releasing the digital tracks on this album on August 9th, the date of her mother's birthday.

Susan is currently singing in Maine.
