Album Notes

A native of Northern New Jersey, Susan Shann first picked up the guitar in her late teens. Influenced by the creative and diverse music of the times, she began composing her own songs, developing a sound which combines elements of pop, rock and folk, but is still uniquely her own. Susan was a regular feature in Jersey clubs and coffeehouses for many years, performing everything from jazz standards to rock, blues and originals. Her passion for writing eventually culminated in the 1999 independent release, “In the Summertime”, a collection of 12 skillfully crafted songs that show both thematic range and musical versatility.
Since moving to Nashville in 2003, Susan has continued to write and perform regularly, becoming a well-respected member of the music community. She was invited to perform as half of a duo with partner Gary Gullbergh for the annual 2005 Tin Pan South festivities, and her songs have recently been gaining the interest and attention of several prominent publishers here. A new collection of songs is expected to be released by Fall 2006.
