Susan started performing in the bars of Key West, Florida at the age of 17. Yes, underage playing for tip money and a bar tab. Since those early days and the discovery of her love for music and performing she has accumulated over 15 years of experience. This is her debut CD recording. Susan's performance is passionate and her writing style is honest, while being vulnerable and confident at the same time.

Susan has been honored to be compared to artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Joan Armatrading, and Tracy Chapman for her deep, passionate voice and writing style. She clearly has her own voice. As a fan once said, she makes you "feel in spite of yourself." Her songs evoke emotions that are timeless yet reflect the soul-searching questions that resonate with the complexity of her listeners' lives today.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Susan answered this question with no hesitation. She embarked on her pursuit of a music career by first joining a 5-piece rock band, Mirage, as the lead singer. The collaboration and continuous practice improved her vocal range, musical ear and timing.

Susan wanted to be more than a singer. With her original material accumulating she needed an outlet for her original expression. She formed an acoustic duo named Winter Breeze. It was here that she sharpened her guitar playing and songwriting skills, along with her performance abilities. While still performing regularly as a solo-artist she established a comfort and ease with an audience.

Currently, self managed she continues playing a variety of venues in different areas in the US including: festivals, clubs, showcases, coffee houses, and private functions. In the Fall of 2005, Susan released her CD, “Inside and Outside,” for which she was a 2006 Outmusic Award nominee for Outstanding Debut Recording. Susan has also been recognized for her songwriting as a runner-up in the March 2006 Song of the Year contest. In addition, Susan's CD Inside and Outside has been in the top 10 of the OutVoice GLBT Top 40 Chart for 5 months in a row! (updated 11/06)www.outvoice.net

In addition to performing and recording, Susan is the founder, president, and CEO of Women's KISS (Kickass Independent Songwriter Showcase), which is presented annually in Provincetown, Massachusetts and around the country. The mission is to promote and emphasize the quality and diversity of independent female musicians from around the globe, while educating our audiences about the
contributions of these artists to the field of music,through a variety of multi-artist events.
