This is a special collaboration between Susie Hodder-Williams (flute, piccolo, alto flute, bass flute, gamelan & Tibetan singing bowl) and Ian Watson. Subtle flavours of the flute and gamelan accompany a reading by Ian Watson, the author of The Tao of Homeopathy with special guest, Chris Caldwell on soprano saxophone, gamelan & Tibetan singing bowl.
"I wrote The Tao of Homeopathy as an attempt to link the philosophies and practices of homeopathy and taoism, two disciplines that might seem to be unrelated yet which do, in fact, have a great deal in common. They are both rooted in a respect for the intelligent wisdom of nature, and both celebrate the healing and transformative power of the subtle and the gentle.
The book, like all creative projects, took on a life of its own, and the coming together of words with the striking images supplied by the artist Rana Chalabi was, to me, a perfect demonstration of the tao in action.
Although I had intended the book to have an aesthetic quality which would complement and even amplify the themes it was exploring, I had not foreseen how this same quality could be conveyed in a totally different way through the medium of sound and music.
It was through the collaboration and support of two gifted musicians, Susie Hodder-Williams and Chris Caldwell, that this audio-book version came to life. Just as the images served to communicate the message of the book in a direct, non-linear way, so too do the musical soundscapes in the audio-book version convey the simplicity and elegance of the tao with an immediacy that words alone can never match."
Ian Watson has worked in the field of natural healing and consciousness transformation for over twenty years. He was co-founder
of the Lakeland College in 1993 and has written three books and numerous articles on homeopathy and the healing process.
Ian offers individual consultations to those who are looking to engage more deeply with their own inner growth process. He also runs a
regular programme of workshops and retreats throughout the world.
