Album Notes

Described by critics as “A prodigious talent”, Australian-Czech Suzanna Hlinka began playing the piano at the age of three, performed her first solo recital at the age of eight and her first concerto appearance with orchestra at the age of ten.

With her multi-faceted playing style described rich with “poise and finesse”, Suzanna has been greeted by enthusiastic audiences throughout the world in Australia, Czech Republic, Japan, Germany, Italy, Norway and Switzerland performing in the world’s most prestigious concert venues from Sapporo’s Concert Hall Kitara, to Prague’s Dvorak Hall at Rudolfinum. Suzanna also devotes herself to chamber music collaborating with musicians such as Pavel Eret, Christoph Blickling, and her father, Vojtech Hlinka.

Suzanna began her studies with her mother, Olga Hlinka, followed by Jana Kovar, Sue Thompson, Natasha Vlassenko, Oleg Stepanov, Peter Toperczer, Tomasz Herbut, and Jiri Hlinka. She holds the Bachelor of Music (Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Brisbane) and Masters degrees (Academy of Performing Arts, Prague). Suzanna completes her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Western Australia in 2011. She divides her time between Australia and Europe further fulfilling her performance commitments.

Suzanna has recorded for SBS, 4EB, 4MBS, ABC, and Czech Radio. ‘Unveiling’ is her debut CD/DVD released by Troll Classics in 2009.
