Suzanne Strickland is multi-talanted, classically trained and has played woodwinds and percussion from primary through high school. Suzanne wrote, arranged and produced her solo release. In addition to that she plays piano, woodwinds, strings, some bass, percussion and is the vocalist on this project. Amazingly she does all of these tasks well and the finished product is an assorted collection of contemporary songs. Strickland has been described as a cross between Sarah McLachlan and George Winston. Her songs speak about happiness, heartbreak and challenges. The opening title track is a poignant piano piece touched with subtle sounds of the pan flute, the English horn, the French horn, strings and soft bass lines. It gently runs into 'Road Poetry' an instrumental prose that is sweet and smooth. 'Until a Rainy Day' is an intimate song about lost love. The opening keys are somber as they merge into Suzanne's expressive vocals. Soft electric and acoustic guitars complete the song. Freefall is a diverse soundscape of instrumental and vocal tracks that weave a interesting and enjoyable CD!
